Ngawang CHhiri Mr. Ngawang Chhiri Sherpa is the son of Mr. Furba Pasang and Mrs. Yangdi Sherpa. He was born on 1982 in a small village in the Solu Khumbu region. He started his primary education at the age of five and completed his school Leaving Certificate (S:L:C:) in 2002. Thereafter, he attended two years course on Community Medical Assistance (C.M.A.). Apart from the school education and trainings, he studied about Buddhism and Tibetan language through his father. Since young age, he was always interested in social service and went back to his own village to establish a small medical clinic to serve the villagers. Unfornunately, he had an accident that caused spinal injury and lost both his legs. Now he has to rely on wheelchair to move around, becoming physically disabled but never he lost his hope. Because of his determination, Eco Himal, an Austrian INGO provided him the opportunity for Thangka painting training with a well known teacher. Mr. Ngawang Kochha Lama, for two years. Now he is capable of making excellent quality Thangka and Mandala paintings. |
